Rui Lopes' Summary

  • I started my career/internship in 2005 at MobiComp, a mobile software company, where I went from Developer, to Product Team Leader, to Pre-Sales Engineer. I worked in the flagship product of the company called MobileKeeper, a Backup/ Restore&Sync solution for mobile devices. From the first commercial version to a leading position in some regions, I participated in key activities in the development & sales of the product. Due to MobileKeeper success, MobiComp was acquired by Microsoft in June 2008. In July 2008 I co-founded and moved to a new company: Nabia Solutions. I've been CEO of the company since the foundation, leading its strategy and growth.

  • CEO, Co-Founder Nabia Solutions July 2008 – Present (4 years 2 months) As CEO of Nabia, I’m responsible for the overall strategy, management, sales & marketing of the company. Nabia is a profitable company since year 1 and I’ve been the privileged to lead an amazing team and to work with some of the world’s most innovative and successful mobile operators and service providers.
  • Pre-Sales Engineer MobiComp Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Wireless industry September 2007 – July 2008 (11 months) Within the Pre-sales role, I was responsible for RFI and RFP analysis, commercial proposals analysis and technical architecture analysis. From partnerships management to product presentations to customers in MEA, Europe and LATAM, I participated in the main sales/pre-sales activities of the company, bridging the product and sales team.
  • Product Team Leader MobiComp Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Wireless industry December 2006 – February 2008 (1 year 3 months) After internship and after 1 year as Developer, I moved to Product Team Leader (Server team) of the MobileKeeper product. I was responsible for every server components development and product releases management, product roadmap feature completion, technical specs validation, code syndication, development team leader (weekly planning, task distribution, feature validation and attribution).
  • Software Engineer MobiComp Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Wireless industry March 2005 – December 2006 (1 year 10 months) I started my career at MobiComp. I built a complete SyncML Server OMA compliant (from architecture to code) as part of the MobiComp's flagship product called MobileKeeper. I was also responsible for a content adaptation mechanism (CAM) where all mobile contents were processed, sync and presented to the user according with the device's capabilities without losing or duplicating information.
